Kool Artists: Clash The Disko Kids

Elke week kun je een uitgebreid verslag verwachten van een artiest/dj(-duo) of een band, gepresenteerd door jullie Kool Kids. Deze week is er een verslag over Clash The Disko Kids !
Saya cinta Clash The Disko Kids !
We Say Rave!
“You Say Party! We Say Rave! is a multi-talented collective of DJs and producers featuring Clash The Disko Kids and friends. Experience and endure their unique brand of smash up from a colorful spectrum of sounds ranging from techno, electro, nu-rave, house, drum & bass and break beats to dubstep. Residing on the sunny island of Singapore, Clash The Disko Kids and the other members have since progressed far beyond its shores, taking their brand of wickedness to parties across the globe. Their flamboyant production along with passionate ideas and rock star attitude caught the attention of many punters and industry folks amazed by their ripping, technologically advanced live sets and charismatic stage presence, reminding you that they are deadly serious about letting yourselves loose and partying your heart out.” – aldus de gasten zelf
Ver weg, maar toch ook weer dichtbij zijn Clash The Disko Kids:
“They may be halfway around the world from most of us, but that doesn’t mean they don’t know good music.” - Bigstereo.net
Make sure to check them out, SOON:

Before we start talking business, will you please introduce yourselves to the Dutch crowd?
We’re a electro/techno trio group from Singapore. It is just a small country in South East Asia region, which is made up of different ethnic/multi-cultural groups. However, the clubbing scene here is robust, thanks to the wonderful clubs like Zouk, Home and The Butter Factory. We have played many gigs locally and regionally, and we’re looking forward to play more gigs in Europe or in the US. Oh, we’ve played in London, last November.
After some research I find you are very well informed about all what`s the newest rage. Tell us your secrets! How come you know us so well?
Well, we usually spent most of our time on the internet hunting for the latest trend in music and news. And its probably the reason why we’re so updated and know about you guys.
When did Clash The Disko Kids become a fact?
CTDK was formed because we were so sick of the music that were played in the clubs here. We just want to prove to these clubs that we can dj better than those foreign acts they have booked over. And so, there you go, we were formed in early 2007, just the right time where the electro scene was slowly building up in Asia.
So I have been following you guys since probably late september 2007 when you first appeared in one of he Mixtape Sundays at this.bigstereo.net with your mix You Say Party! We Say Rave! featuring artists like Goose, The Klaxons, Chemical Brothers, Justice, and others. Why so many European artists?
We don’t have much comments about this, maybe it’s just coincident. We like these artists for their music, and so we decided to put them in our mix.
The Kool Kids are always open for all kinds of electro-varieties from all around the world. We already introduced ourselves to Himawari and 80kidz and of course Steve Aoki. Where do you place yourselves between these artists?
We are most probably in between a mixture of Aoki-meets-2manyDJs. We have many variations in our DJ sets as well, it’s really a mashup of electro/techno/indie rock/hip hop.
By the way Steve Aoki giving us props over here : http://community.dimmak.com/blog/2009/03/clash-the-disco-kids-oh-my-god-its-techno-mixtape/
Who and what inspires you?
Everything inspires us. We get our inspirations from everywhere, be it a tv show, movie, the environment, the people we’ve met..etc
Who do you consider new Asian electro-artists we should keep an eye out for?
Melee Punks, they are a fantastic act to look out for. Check them out at http://www.myspace.com/meleepunks
And of coz, our mates Inquisitive and LapSap
What can we expect from Clash The Disko Kids?
Right now, we’re doing original tracks for our album. So far, we’ve done 2 tracks. And we’re planning to do LIVE set in future. So watch out for it!
So far you primarily have been touring in Asia, will we be able to see you behind the decks soon? Are you planning on collaborating with European artists?
Yeah definitely, we will play in Europe and States, however we need more hookups. If you guys wanna book us, that would be great.
Anyway, we’re heading to London and some Europe cities in May …so maybe u should be able too see us in action soon
Thank you for introducing yourselves! Any shout-outs to the Dutch party-people?
Hope we can play in your country soon. Thanks for all your support!
