First of all we introduce you the great name from France: Joakim is the multi-talent pur-sang, and not to be placed in a specific genre. This Parisian, who’s hailing from the legendary Kitsuné label, makes his own party and goes across multiple styles and paths to shred your ears off. He made himself untouchable as his productions vary enormously; even in a certain track he whips you from one end to the other.

The band Krikor is also from France and will be giving a live-performance. The nickname of Krikor is ‘Funky-ass Frenchman’ and once you hear his music, you won’t be surprised by that nickname any more: elektronica that gives you an ass-whopping you haven’t experienced (a lot ). He creates his music and presents it as a life form even, through the power of imaginary devices through which he creates new track ‘on the spot’. Make sure you don’t miss this great opportunity of masterpieces created on a live-basis.

(DJ) Wannabe A Star is mostly known of her high-heeled sexy dj-sets; fresh and wild in testing her boundaries. Though this time she will come with more power: this Rauw weekend will be the release-date of her first EP ‘Party Party’, and Wannabe will rock the 4 tracks in a short performance at the beginning of the night. Besides this, Wannabe will also close the night with her known dj-set. Of course you can expect the Berlin-Utrecht visuals-duo JPech to creatively show the most surreal visuals in Utrecht.

But what is even more fun than one night of Rauw-ishness? That’s right, THREE NIGHTS RAUW! That’s why the second weekend in April will be the called the RAUWEEKENDER (8th, 9th and 10th of April). For what is already the fourth year in a row. It’s already common to be able to call it a super-tradition as you can expect great artists to perform this weekend. RAUW-chairman Joost van Bellen will be presenting three night containing live-acts and dj’s who will push you to the limits of dirty dance, fatttt disco and electricity. New this year will be the RAUWEEKENDER AFTERPARTY.

Thursday 8th of April, Tivoli De Helling (Utrecht)
AEROPLANE, RORY PHILLIPS, M.E.N. & SHOUT OUT OUT OUT OUT
The first night of the RAUWEEKENDER will have a flying start with Aeroplane, the Belgian dj-duo that create magic out of misery and will let every dance floor shake its groove out. Cosmic Disco, Balkan, Psychedelic guitars – everything that makes you having a supernatural, awesome experience. English lad Rory Philips (along with fancy headphones) has played the crowd nuts for years in the London club Trash and is doing that very thing now at the follow-up Durrr. The biggest elektronica is what you can expect with from time to time some ol’ raw sounds! M.E.N. is a band/dj-collective from New York (coming from le Tigre) with some nice raggauhouse. Also take a look at their stage act! Shout Out Out Out Out consists out of two drummers, four bassists, a sampler, eleven synthesizers and three vocoders. As they are describing it themselves: neurotic dance music!

Friday 9th of April, Tivoli De Helling (Utrecht)
MR. OIZO, RIVA STARR, THE WALK & ROGER 72
On the second night of RAUWEEKENDER Joost van Bellen created… Mr. Oizo, the legend and French producer of the monster hit Flat Beat, with which he created a new genre on his own. After that he has produced numerous of rauw tracks, of whom also tracks from Uffie, who is to be watched on the Saturday. Riva Starr is a dj-producer from Italy, who fell in a gypsy bucket when he was a baby and apparently never got out, creating as much balkan, folk en gypsy as possible. The in The Hague based dj-duo The Walk & Roger 72 will also be playing, who both have a weak spot for the French sound from Daft Punk and… Mr. Oizo.

Saturday 10th of April, Tivoli De Helling (Utrecht)
GOOSE (LIVE), UFFIE (LIVE), GREEN VELVET, HARVARD BASS, JOOST VAN BELLEN
The third night of the RAUWEEKENDER is the most varied one, with for instance the great Belgian band Goose: rough rock ’n roll with electronic & eighties-influences. From Paris the American Uffie will be visiting us. A fierce lady who has found herself a crew at the Ed Banger-label. We will also be having a legend this night: Green Velvet; Kraftwerk and Prince melted in a single hipster-house pioneer. His country mate Harvard Bass has two faces: elegant minimal house on the one side and bad-ass ghetto grooves on the other side. RAUW-boss DJ Joost van Bellen will make this RAUWEEKENDER complete with finishing the third evening!
