AIR is looking for the most crazy T-shirt design for it’s new Thursday club night CookieClub. The winner gets of course her or his design on shirt, but next to that AIR also so generous to give a Philips LCD television, so we’re talking about the big stuff.

CookieClubs T-Shirt design contest.

How does it works?
You can download the template of the shirt and the Cookieclub logo from this link.
Most important is that we use our creativity as much as we can. Be crazy, use colors, use psychedelic effect. Do whatever you want, but make sure it rocks!
In 4 days already they will announce the winner on Facebook around 23:59. AIR will together with CookieClub choose a top 10 of all the entries. The ten most nice shirts will be in a photoalbum on the CookieCLub fanpage on Facebook.
From that moment on people can vote on which shirt they like the most by liking it. So the definite decision will be done the 27st of October.

The conditions are as followed:

———————————————–

-It’s required that the template of the shirt is downloaded from the link on this page.

-It’s required to use the logo CookieClub logo (designed by Christoph Voorn), it must be at least on time fully on the shirt.

-There is a maximum use of two different colors on the shirt design. the shirt itself will have a third color which you can choose by yourself.

-It’s not necessary to create a design for the back of the shirt.

-Next to uploading your design on Facebook you also have to mail it to press@air.nl This must be a vector file (300 DPI CYMYK) This can be an .PDF/.eps or .ai

For over fifteen years, 55DSL the original Italian street wear company have filled millions of wardrobes around the world. During this time they’ve also been heavily involved within the street sub-cultures that have inspired this casual wear: Bloody Beetroots, Fakso, MTV, DIM MAK, Complete Technique and Zound are just some names that have collaborated with 55DSL. This september sees the launch of not only another classic FW’11 range, but also the start of an ongoing exploration into some of Italy’s other creative exports: it’s artists. The Kids In Italia series begins with two short films (made in partnership with VICE), which document these game-changing artists at work.

We’re very pleased to announce that our site is going to be updated! After 2,5 years of committed love and devotion we decided that it’s time to update The Kool Kids concept and adding new features. The new site will be up around the end of September/begin October.

We’re certain that you’re very eager to hear what we’ve got in store for you, so here goes:

The first thing that we’ll be adding is a complete Facebook and Twitter integration (hit us up on there if you haven’t done that already!)

Also we’ll be having a new feature in which we have “twitter headlines”. This will mean that we’ll have short headlines for little news about upcoming releases, certain quotes and stuff like that.

Thirdly we’re going to have an exclusive Agenda page! This means that we’ll have some kind of calendar where you can see the upcoming events of the coming months and click on them for more information!

But here’s the bigger news:

The Kool Kids is going to open a web shop! At first we’re going to sell the latest releases from labels such as Boysnoize Records, Kitsuné, Ed Banger Records and more, but also individual releases will be sold through the site. Next to that we’ll also sell merchandise and in the future we might expand this part.

Finally we’ll begin The Kool Kids Agency! At first the agency will be a platform for Dutch artists, and after that we might expand this too.

We’re very excited and we hope you’re aswell. If you have any comments, suggestions, questions or other inquiries, please hit us up on contact@thekoolkids.com or write a comment below!

On the heels of a highly successful exploration campaign featuring Johnny Knoxville in Detroit, heritage boot brand Palladium announces the launch of the brand’s Fall/Winter 2011 international ad campaign featuring musician, producer and designer Pharrell Williams. The new campaign, entitled Tokyo Rising, documents Pharrell as he explores the city’s hidden treasures, interviews locals and uncovers an inspiring resiliency in Tokyo, Japan in the aftermath of the events of 3/11. The campaign will appear in print and online and is comprised of a documentary film short led by Williams, as well as a selection of images that capture his exploration into the depths of a rising Tokyo subculture.

Originally the maker of tires for military aircrafts, Palladium has been making boots for urban exploration since 1947. Embarking on the latest trek with its Fall/Winter 2011 collection, the brand was inspired by Tokyo’s majestic presence and cultural impact around the globe. Featured locations were chosen because of their relatively bottled magnificence and limited access, which the exploration uncovers. Descending into Tokyo’s “underground palace” that rests several stories beneath the surface, Tokyo Rising highlights a concrete example of the city’s ability to triumph through innovation and persistence. That same resilience is apparent in the campaign’s featured DIY spaces and art galleries, run by young locals who are willing to go the distance for Tokyo in the face of adversity. Through intimate interviews with artists including Ambush Design co-founder and musician Verbal of the Teriyaki Boyz and electropop band the Trippple Nippples (which you might know, seeing as they’ve played a few times in The Netherlands), the campaign provides insight on the spirit of Tokyo’s creative class, showing their renewed commitment to the city and their vision for its vibrant future.

About Palladium
Palladium was founded in 1920 to make aircraft tires for the aviation industry. In 1947, after the end of WWII saw demand for tires dry up, Palladium put their canvas and rubber expertise to use by making boots that were as hard wearing as their tires. Palladium soon became outfitters of the legendary French Foreign Legion with their classic canvas Pampa boot. Over 60 years later the timeless design of Palladium’s signature Pampa boot is as relevant as ever and available once again for explorers worldwide. Palladium’s core message is about urban exploring and putting your boots on to find out what’s beyond the tourist guidebook. In their shoe section you can find a wide range of sneakers. They sell sneakers from well known brands such as Nike, Adidas Originals and Vans and in most sizes.

The website says that the products will be delivered at your home within three days. Besides that, there are no delivery costs or anything for sending things back that you don’t like, so it feels like a big clothing closet where you can try and order anything you might think you like. Good reasons to give the website a try!

Saycet is the project of Pierre Lefeuvre, a french music composer hailing from Paris who cut his teeth listening to Boards of Canada and Múm. His first solo album entitled “One Day at Home” resulted in nine atmospherical tracks, evoking abstract landscapes and fairy tales for adults from song to song.

It’s been over a year since Paris-based Pierre Lefeuvre of SayCet released his gorgeous second album “Through The Window”, an album which would definitely have deserved a few more honorable words at the end of the year in my opinion. Directed by Zita Cochet, this blissed-out video collage quite honestly makes me want to drop all that I have in my hands and go out traveling again. Have a peak below yourself.

Jameson Irish Whiskey held its second edition of the James Film Experiment in Amsterdam on July 28th.
This was the first time that cult movie Hesher, of debuting director Spencer Susser was shown in The Netherlands. The Zuiveringshal at the Westergasfabriek was turned into a unique location where film, culture and music got together this evening.

The Jameson Film (JFE) is a movie experience in collaboration with the International Filmfestival Rotterdam (IFFR). During the JFE you can experience the works of interesting and courageous directors on special locations. In this way every movie fanatic can be inspired or will be entertained.

After a successful first JFE during the past IFFR in Rotterdam all eyes were now set to the capital city. The second edition was a true spectacle, and the location was turned into the style of Hesher and the crowd litterally got sucked into the world of the movie.

Hesher tells the story about the 13 year old T.J. and his father, who both fell asleep because of the tragic loss of their mother and wife. When T.J. meets Hesher on his way to school, an anarchistically minded metalhead (Gordon-Levitt), he gets into all kinds of trouble. Though it seems that Hesher is the only one that can help T.J.. The rush that the movie created, was also seen at the afterparty. Jeff Solo played and entertained the crowd, after which the people partied in Hesher-style.

The IFFR and Jameson are collaborating. This collab leads to the organisation of yearly three special movie events and sponsoring of the IFFR from January 25th till February 5th 2012. This means that the IFFR will select a movie that will be shown during the JFE. Jameson takes care of the rest of the event, from decor to the bar and programming.

Jameson is known as the brand that has shown its love for movies multiple times. The relationship that has been build-up in the past 10 years is now being turned into the movie initatives that Jameson supports and creates. Jameson also sponsored others festivals like the IDFA, the Dutch Moviefestival and the unique open air film festival Pluk de Nacht.

The well-known shoe brand K-Swiss has come up with a new concept to widen its exposure.
It’s called: GONZOWORLD.

With this K-Swiss wants to launch a new magazine and website, of which the grand opening will be later on this year. You will witness super slow-mo videos to the extent of hilarious and even a bit frightening content.
This site will let you have a peek behind the screens for the making off the GONZO Guide to Self-Defence.

K-Swiss would like to take it over from here:
“One rainy day last month, K-SWISS met up with the people you will see on this site. We got talking about how advertising is largely crap, so we decided to rip up the rule books and GO GONZO.

What’s GONZO? Well, it’s about living life to the fullest and booting life up the ass. It’s about looking out at the rain coming down and seeing Californian sunshine. So we decided to wake up everyday, find the most fun thing we can do, film it, photograph it, write about it and tell the whole world.

This site is the start of that. In the last few weeks we went to California with a world champion MMA fighter, made a music video, went to Mardi Gras, made the best workout video ever with Tempa T, learnt how to pick up girls, eat right, dress right, and how to take a punch.

Over the next months we’ll be doing far, far more, and the best part? We need YOU to be part of the movement, YOU to become part of our crew, to travel the world being GONZO with us – so click LIKE here or sign up for our newsletter and we’ll tell you how to get involved.”

You can see some examples of what to expect below.
