It’s been a while since we received some new stuff from the Bloody Beetroots, after announcing they would do a new tour called “The Church of Noise-tour” we haven’t see really new things. The concept was to create a new act, strongly influenced by rock, punk and electro. With his friend and companion Dennis Lyxzén of the Swedish punk band Refused, which he allready remixed last year with the track New Noise.
In an interview with Belgian Blog Fuzz magazine Bob describes The Church of Noise as following: “It exists out of many things, but mainly a new movement in music industry that is created by Denis Lyxzén and myself. It’s also the name of the New Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77 live experience. It’ll be about music, lifestyle and revolution. We try to create an alternative for the current system we live in”

In the teaser of Church of Noise which was shared a few weeks ago they already gave us the following message:
This is an attempt to break the rules.

To free our minds, to make every minute count,

to combat greed and create our own world.

I want sweat, passion and love.

I want creativity for its own sake, not just to make money.

I want energy, movement and riot, not slaves.

Anything is possible, don’t believe in social classes.

There are no such things.

This is an attempt to fill the void,

to gather radical ideas and beautiful minds.

I want a cure, I want the revolution.

Bob Rifo kept us curious by updating his facebook once in a while with some cryptical posts. Then last sunday they posted 15.11.11 the date Church of Noise would be released and guess what day it is today? Yeah the fifteenth of November. And we’d love to here by share their new track called Church of Noise with you guys

So guys, what you think of the new track? We love it! Trashbags already said on Facebook they don’t really know what to think and the there is actually no more electro in it, what we sure can not deny, though we would very like to here your opinion about it.

In 2011 two cyborg convicts escaped from the planet venus. In an attempt of loosing their tail they crashed on a distant planet. This planet was Earth.
Their ship was destroyed, the only thing working was their radio transmitter, but they couldn’t call for help. Instead they tuned into a radiochannel called Sexy Riffz FM and this is where the Cyborgs fell in love with Heavy Metal music, and instead of fixing their ship they started recreating that type of music with their space technology.
But dangerous events occurs when human metalheads wants them dead.
but…you can’t kill, what has no life.
This is how Antichrist describe their self. So we have two crazy strange creatures producing music, sounds interesting. Let’s see the interview

Yo guys, what up?
Nothing much, doing this interview it seems.

Could you introduce yourself to the Dutch folks?
Hi dutch folk, we are Antichrist and we are here to raise the dead and kill them again!

So you’re from outer space? What is it like?
Cold and silent

Whats with the name?
We wanted a name that sounded metal, and Antichrist was just what we were looking for.
Even tho we get a lot of christians bombarding our Facebook page with stupid stuff about “jesus is all, remove your sins”
well… that is the price we have to pay we guess.

Why do you perform with the skull-masks, is there a specific reason for?
Earth is not ready to see what is hiding under those masks.

You guys say that one of your influences we’re Heavy Metal we hear also lots of Dubstep and electro, are you trying to combine those specific genres or is that coincidence?
It’s a coincidence, our space technology is much more different than your electric guitars and acoustic drums.

You’ve remixed F.O.O.L., Daft Punk, Ze! are there any other remixes we can expect?
We are doing a remix for a band called The Thief soon as we get the stems.
It’s a cool band from Norway you should check them out.

When will you release you’re debut ep?
We were going to release it this month but with some Beatport issues we had to postpone the EP.
it will be released on MMAN Recordings as soon as possible!
It will be called Night EP

Which artists we’re your influences and who are your influences?
Hard question since we are influenced by a lot, but i think we are gonna go with Whitesnake and Van Halen.
<param name="allowscriptaccess"

What was the most crazy gig you guys had till now?
At a place in Oslo called Fisk og Vilt, it was crazy!
The crowd almost tore down the place.

Wich DJ would like to play back to back with?
F.O.O.L, Alienhearts and DJ Mehdi

Do you think Blogs and websites play a big role in today’s music scene?
Yes

Any cool (secret) to share with us?
We love chocolate milk and video games.

As we’re named The Kool Kids, could you tell us why you are cool?
We aren’t

Don’t forget to check them out on Facebook and Soundcloud, their single “The leak” is a free download on their Facebook

With already two EP’s and even working on his third EP we would like you to introduce Autolaser!
Autolaser is a dramatic electro dubstepish DJ from Norway, a unique sound which is hard to describe as said you hear filthy electro drops to crazy dubstep wobbles, everything fits. Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 his first EP’s got lots of good feedback and he was been reviewed by several big blogs. Now it’s our turn to interview the man behind Autolaser.

Lets start with the introducing part, who are you?
My name is Kent Tonning and I’m from Norway.

How is the music (electro) scene in Norway?
It’s getting better now, the Norwegian music scene is very slow with genres. Dubstep was getting very popular here last year, haha. It’s getting really good now, people are crazy at shows!

What sort of music do you produce?
I really dont know yet, I don’t care what kind of genre I produce actually. When I’m in my studio I just do what I want, and I love lots of dfferent genres, so I guess you could say it’s a controlled mess, haha.

Seeing your photos and artwork but also listening your tracks, you remind me of Danger, has he been an inspiration for you?
Nah, I dont know. I love Danger and I got huge respect for Franck. Of course has he been an inspiration to me, it’s great to know that there are more artist who act different than the others.

The performance you give the audience exists of a sick set and behind you an visual show, do you make it all by yourself?
Thank you! No, I got a talented friend whos controlling the visuals. He syncs my bpm while I’m playing and he fucks up the visuals with loops and crazy effects. I’ve just decided the clips.

I hear in lots of your track Dubstep and electro sounds, would you compare yourself with DJs such as Zedd?
Nah I dont know, maybe from the musical background. We both have played in metal band, haha.

On your Facebook we see you’re at the moment at Thaf Records, are there any collaborations to expect with fellow Thaf family members?
Nope, I would love to do it but I have so much going on right now.

What is your current status?
Huge planning shows, remixing and doing the Chapter 3 EP.

Any plans to play abroad? The Netherlands?
Im getting ready for some shows outside of Norway. I would love to play in Netherland, I love that country!

You’ll be supporting Mord Fustang next week, how’s that for you?
Its great, I’ve never played with huge artist like him before. So I’m looking forward for that!

Can you name is some artists you would like to play with?
Hmm, Daft Punk of course, and Le Castle Vania would be awesome.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
Peace on earth! And let all rainforests stay free!

Dubstep or D’nB
Drumstep? I mean I love the Dutch D’nB and I’ve been a huge fan of Black Sun Empire.

Danger or Kavinsky
I love them both, but I love Danger because of his talented way in producing.

Are there any artists we should keep an eye on?
Yeah, Tony Anthems and my bro Blastoise.

As our philosophy is ‘We’re Kool, are you?’ Can you tell me why you are kool?
Because I got superman panties and I rent dogs. True story!
And I love The KoolKids and The Netherlands<3

———————————

Give our friend some love and Like him on Facebook, share him on Soundcloud and enjoy him on YouTube.

You can download his latest track ‘Mod 2′ on his Facebook

Just like ZEDD is Porter Robinson a young refreshing electro/dubstep DJ who has toured together with Skrillex both of them learned a lot of the experience what we can hear in their latest productions.
In Augsut 17 Skrillex announced his new label OWSLA which would mainly release elctronic (including dubstep) music. The first releases would be from Bristol-based dubstep producer Koan Sound, singer/songwriter Alvin Risk, San Francisco based M Machine and electro-dubstep newcomer Porter Robinson.
We already mentioned Porter before in our article about ZEDD.

Porter Robinson is an 19 year old electro-dubstep from North Carolina, and has already remixes for Lady Gaga, Skrillex and performed with Moby, A-Trak, Skrillex, Deadmau5 and Afrojack. Skrillex saw soon enough potential in him and recruited him to his label. His sound is only to describe as Dubstep powered with Electro House. The ideal combination.

But now it’s time

Porter Robinson has just released his debut EP on OWSLA. As Skrillex got signed to Mau5trap records 5 years ago it’s now his turn to support artists by sign them to his label. It’s one of OWSLA first released EP’s.
Skrillex mentioned on his Facebook: “Feels amazing to do the same with somebody who I believe in so much. So PLEASE support Porter Robinson and buy his Spitfire EP that just came out today on my new label Owsla. Never been so proud in my life!”

You can listen the EP on his soundcloud:
<param name="allowscriptaccess"

Ok, so the track “Audio, Video, Disco” from the same-titled album by Justice apparently has been leaked. The album will be out on October 25th. Our opinion is: We quite like the track. The vocals are quite catchy, not in a cheesy way, the piano synths and bass synths are quite nice, though the tracks isn’t really exciting in a way like the “Cross” album and we would have expect more from the drums. What is your opinion?

Interview with Dem Slackers

There’s nothing wrong with patriotism. And as our fellow Dutchmen and friend Dem Slackers performed at the Boys Noize Record stage during Mysteryland, we felt doing an interview with the brain behind newest banger ‘Global Grind’
And so we did, we spoke about lots of subject from his experience while playing in front of hundreds of people till Dubstep. As not only we learned him better we give you here by a piece of text which will you update about the current status of Dem Slackers. So here we go:

So how you’re doing?
Pretty good man, I just opened at Boys Noize Record stage at Mysteryland it was pretty good, it was pretty sweet to do.

You mentioned on Facebook that your Lowlands gig was even more special than the time you played in Ibiza next to Tiesto, how do you feel about this one?
Well I opened here so I couldn’t really expect a huge crowd to be here when I started here, because obviously people were just entering the place. The Lowlands gig was the best gig of my life and it was also the biggest crowd I’ve ever played for, so you can’t really compare it to Lowlands. But then again there’s nothing to compare with lowlands

What is it about Lowlands that makes it so special for you?
It’s everything, because I’m Dutch Lowlands has always been one of my biggest goals to achieve as DJ and now succeeded , it feels so good. It’s amazing and it’s strange to know that it’ll be the biggest gig of your life before playing and then afterwards it is indeed the biggest gig of my life. So everything around it and the gig itself that makes it so amazing.

Even though you reached this specific goal, are there any new goals?
Yeah I wanna do Electric Daisy Carnival in Las vegas, obviously, because that’s like the biggest thing on the planet, I guess. So it’s not like that I have goals besides going to America and enjoy there. I just came back of Australia where I did a three week tour, what was pretty awesome and I’m going back there in January and February so the next year is about flying out it’s going to be totally amazing.

Do you agree that you’re going to the same sort of Journey as the ‘Mightyfools’?
I Think Mightyfools got big with the fidget hype though you know with the heavy electro sounds. Because I’m changing my style now and wasn’t so big with the fidget stuff, I Think the new fans only see the commercial stuff. I just like to incorporate vocals in my tracks. It makes it always better and gets girls sing along. That’s pretty neat.

What’s your current status?
Like I said i’d like to add vocals to my tracks some like epic, some like melodic breakdowns, but still heavy bass-drops, because that’s what Dem Slacker is for. It’s good to use a lot of synths and chords and everything to get the crowd really hyped up, to evolve them in the track and that emotional feeling during a heavy bass-drops.

We noticed that you use a lot of Mord Fustang tracks in your sets, is that something you really go for?
I do really like his tracks, but it’s mainly something that I want to play out. I’m not going to make that type of house. It’s more like the old school electro house with the different synths and stuff. It’s a cool style though, but not for me.

In what genre would you place your music?
I’d say it’s in between Pop music and Dance music, as we call it nowadays, you know like the commercial club music plus heavy bass-lines and stuff. You could probably say it’s a bit Bassjacker like. Because they have like big brakes and still filthy drops. And that’s what I try to do as well I want to hype up the crowd and reach them emotionally, I really try to put emotion in my tracks. In the end I’m still about bass.

So as we talk about genres, do you like dubstep?
I enjoy Dubstep, I can’t really listen to an hour or half our set of it, but for five-teen minutes or so. I did play after Skrillex at Lowlands and I can assure you he killed it, he murdered the crowd.

What sets Skrillex apart of the other Dubstep DJ’s?
I think because he’s a little commercial in the Dubstep scene. He uses a lot of cheesy vocals and really catchy moves from the break down and obviously the drops are just all the same haha, but it works! If you get girls to sing a long and people begin to know your melodies of your song and still are able going nuts to them, that’s what you got to have. And that is what I want. That’s what Dance music is all about in the end isn’t it?

As Dubstep seems to grow bigger and bigger, more and more artists start to produce tracks with Dubstep-ish sounds in it, like these wobbles Martin Solveig uses in “Ready to go” Are you in to that?
I don’t really like it, you can clearly hear he putted in there, because Dubstep is getting big I think. If it actually makes your track better..okay fair enough, but if it’s just random there just because of the fact the genre is getting popular and there has to be dubstep in, nah I don’t like that. It has to make the track better. In the Martin Solveig song for example, I really like the song, but the Dubstep part is unnecessary.

On the internet there are wild speculations that it’ll be the new house, afraid of that?
Well like you said more and more artists such as Porter Robinson, Zedd are using these Dubstep changes and synths in their tracks that’s just really America and it’s going to comeback here as well it was really popular here four years ago. Dubstep is definitely gonna stay for the very few days and I do believe it’s gonna grow even more. You can already hear on the television that it’s used in commercials.
But House is never going to die. It’s always that main thing that is there it’ll keep changing but I think you can’t hold on on one style. Besides that I realize I can’t do that as well, maybe I’ll be producing Dubstep because I’m really into it. You’re just have to enjoy live and get drunk!

How’s it like to be a well known 19-year old DJ?
Haha it’s pretty cool! Every time you tell some other person or DJ who doesn’t know I’m 19 always react like: “O my god, I feel so old!” That’s basically the only reaction I get. Besides the only thing I really noticed of it is when the media writes or talks about me like ‘The young dude he’s only 19-year old dude’ but other than that it’s not really special. When you hang out with other DJ’s it’s not like ‘he’s the young dude’ you just become friends.

And what about school, regarding your age?
It’s just nice I get to grow old so fast, you become very quick really independent. Because I’m going away all the time, when I’m in Australia I’ll be there for three weeks on my own in a hotel room. That’s pretty much it.

What is it like to be the first performer on the Boy Noize Records stage?
It’s pretty cool to play at that stage as is it obviously a I played some tunes from the guys that will play after me, so I guess it’s a big honor. But like I said it’s always hard to be the first DJ the people just enter the festival you got to adapt and play some known tunes, not really my thing but I don’t mind it. It’s is really different from the sets I normally play, I like to smash the crowd with bangers!

As you played on the BNR stage, is there maybe something going on?
Hahah no man, I mix everywhere. At the moment we’re kinda shopping for a new label, because I’m doing the more commercial stuff. But it’s not that important you choose the label release an EP from so that’s not a problem at all for me. I do make some bootlegs (for Calvin Harris) to keep the fans warm.

Talking about BNR, you seem to get lots of support of Bart B More?
We live really close near each other and we already made a collab together, but we had some issues with the melody and stuff. But I’m sure we’re gonna make some more tunes in the future!

Are there any current influences?
Ehmm..Bee Gees and like I said I like Mord Fustang, although I am not going to make exact that kind of music.

And of course our final question. What makes you so Kool?
I have to say my swag. Definitely my swag, I need an extra seat for my Swag hahah.

Begin this year in March we introduced you to Rocket a beginning DJ from Mexico with his own specific sound which he names: “Death.Electro” back then we did an interview with the man behind “Bloody Symphony“. Not only The Kool Kids saw potential in this guy but blogs all over the world reviewed his tracks and he even got lots of attention on http://www.metalectro-music.com/. After the remix of Rocky Horror’s – Destructo he did. He got even more recognition. And so his remix came on Rocky Horror’s EP. We wanted to know how our friend is doing. We took another short interview and talked about his current productions.

So how have you been the last couple of months?
Cool… !! I’ve been hunting bunnies!! …Just kiddin!! Just playing, producing and doing what I love to do!

In April you introduced to us your new ambient project “Dynamic Symmetry” With the following explanation: “Finding the patterns in music that will be remembered and express the feelings the most of us forgotten.” Could you tell us a bit more?
Well actually, Dynamic symmetry is not a project to be recognized, I only intend to return the smile and dreams that many have forgotten, if you close your eyes, and listen any part of the tracks… perhaps you suddenly transports to that place you’ve ever dreamed of and the magic begins; all this, combining classical music, instrumental music and IDM with a very subtle electronic structure…

You also have been playing live quite a times, how was the experience?
Full of magic… full of feelings… (: every time the experience of playing becomes more fascinating to me

Rocky’s Horror – Destructo remix by you got good feedback and even got released on his EP. Do you see that track as your first well done remixed production?
Rocky horror its and excellent producer and a very good friend! And well, yes, I think my remix to destructo has been my first well done remixed production, with real stems and sounds… and my first remix in a released EP.

What can you tell us about Lazor Lotus Mafia, are you guys representing the new Mexican scene?
Hell yeah, LLM indeed represents the most hard, trash, bangers electro dj’s & producers here in México… such as RDHS, Crimen, Audio Comando Heróicos, Fuckn burritos, to name a few… and yes, we are the new mexican electro scene!

In PLATHMENYA it sounds like there’s an 8 bit kinda sound in intro, why did you choose that to combine with your death.electro?
Actually the 8 bit sound that you mentioned its a violin, modified to be more epic and electro listening; without losing the real instruments behind, and the power of death.electro that characterizes to rocket…

Do you have any future plans in remixing certain tracks?
For sure, for now I’m working on a remix for a Death.Metal band! It’s very interesting working with them!! Cuz’ it’ll be my first remix in a real disc of pure metal…

What about playing abroad?
For now just in México, but next year… who knows!!

As we are named The Kool Kids it’s our daily mission to inform you guys about kool artists. And so I’d like to enlighten Zedd, some of you may know him from the many charts he captured in Beatport or the fact that he toured together with Skrillex last year.
As Skrillex started touring with Deadmau5 in mid 2010, Zedd will be touring as well with our mousey friend Joel this August in The States. But first have a look at some background information of our promising DJ Zedd.

Zedd’s real name is Anton Zaslavski and is 22 years old and lives at the moment in Germany.
With big influences such as Daft Punk and later Justice Anton got introduced in the electronic music.
Which made him think of producing and remixing music himself.
He already got raised with lots of different aspects of music, as his parents we’re both musician.
Not knowing the fact he learned playing piano and later on drums would take him to the level he’s now on. And what Zedd, not only he, separates from many artists is that he really is a musician and it’s not just a matter of knowing when to click that special button to create the best sound, that’s why playing the instruments in his youth helps him a lot understanding music.

In 2009 the real electronic producing of tracks began, sooner on he became a relative remarkable DJ for his age and he participated the Armand van Helden – Strictly Rythm remix contest which he won. This was the beginning of a winning spree on Beatport because shortly after his first victory he won a second contest started by Fatboy Slim. These two especially the second contest formed a firm foundation for various co-operations with big names such as Lady Gaga, P Diddy, Skrillex and of course the labels like Stryctly Rythm and Mau5trap. As he already made a name in the Beatport scene his first release: “The Anthem” directly entered the top 20 in Beatport.

One of the reasons for this rapid development is undoubtedly Zedd’s unique and highly recognizable style of composition. As he explains in an interview:
“The massive sound many people mention consists of 3-5 different sounds playing at the same time. Each of them has 2-4 soundlayers in it. This way it usually is not just 1 bass, or 1 lead but a whole “army of sounds” pushing it to the top! All of those sounds play an own role. One is responsible for the sub-frequences, 1 needs to give it a crunchy, crisphy attack, 1 of the sounds I use often sounds like an electric guitar which gives a nice warmth to it etc..”

As in the beginning we mentioned Zedd will start touring with Deadmau5 the 18th of August. Again he’ll be playing next to one of his major role models. Next to that is this a big opportunity to prove himself again against the world. We can’t wait for a new Zedd Remix or track and we’re dying for his first performance in The Netherlands. We expect to hear some of his new stuff during his coming tour, till then we have to wait and satisfy ourselves with his currently produced and remixed tracks. Below you can find his latest remix for Swedish House Mafia’s Save The World

The self-titled debut from Torontonian quartet Azari & III has been released on 8th August on Turbo Recordings / Loose Lips Records / Modular. It follows the release of the single ‘Hungry For The Power,’ which erupted a storm of awe on the underground music scene, and a collaborative track ‘Stay Here’ with Friendly Fires in 2010. The record is set to become the sound of a dystopian summer with their innately brooding beat and sordid-pop edge.

Azari & III’s unique blend of moody electronica, dark yet hooky vocal choruses and analog-thick rhythms has earned them a hardcore following and sees this album as one of the most-anticipated in the calendar. The four-piece, consisting of producer/musicians Dinamo Azari and Alixander III with vocalists Fritz Helder and Starving Yet Full, have crafted a defining sound that relishes in its references while maintaining a future perspective.

From the velvety refrains of ‘Reckless With Your Love’ through to the creeping melancholy of ‘Manhooker’ and the unhinged technopera of ‘Undecided’, their album possesses an individual classic-future feel, with trademark lush synthesizations, biting soulful chorus’s and ominous overtones.

You can stream the album below:

Every layer of Azari & III’s tracks are dripping with a sense of sordid, melted stress. The single Manic, a re-visioned acid house ballad brought to life in the nihilistic nightclub fantasy of the official video below. It’s a late night body mover captured with drugs, skulls and axe wielding girls, a lesson in how to frame the face of Toronto’s finest.

Here’s a review done by the BBC:
“House music has undergone a terrific splintering since its inception. These various mutations, though, often satisfy only their committed following, and the form has lost both some of its joyous universality on one hand, and class on the other. Step forward Azari & III, a Toronto-based quartet of two machines-men (Dinamo Azari and Alixander III) and two vocalists (Fritz Helder and Cedric), who unwrap and hoover up the finest elements of the form in this imperious debut.

Perhaps Azari & III’s sense of unfussy enjoyment in the sounds they’re creating comes from their origins in the Canadian city of Toronto, far from the usual global dance music hubs. What’s more, they seem to have possibly landed on their sound by happenstance rather than design, as singer Cedric freely admits being largely unaware of the genre until a couple of years ago.

The result is louche and intoxicating. The sweet and honeyed tones of the vocalists belie their gender, though anyone who’s caught the quartet live, when the singers can be seen in heels and wigs, know their aesthetic is not dictated by chromosomes. But Azari & III’s more camp tendencies are not overly arch – something that proved an Achilles heel for the electroclash groups who, 10 years ago, attempted a similarly glammed-up take on house.

The brilliance of their debut lies in its ability to cover all bases. Not just in reverential nods to house music ancient and modern, but in the ability to knock off disco-flecked high carat electronic pop. There’s Hungry For The Power, a banker-baiting banger, and the effortlessly slinky opener Into The Night; the worried sensuality of Reckless With Your Love, and Manic, which evokes Giorgio Morodor and would suit a turn from none other than Grace Jones.

Linking all these together, and making Azari & III feel as much of club mix as an album, is the instrumental tracks. Insistent drum hiss and gliding acid arpeggios act like the flexing sinews of a buff and bronzed arm. It is the way this excellent debut matches sweat-glistening action with a dark, fruity class that ensures Azari & III will be one of the finest electronic pop record you’re likely to hear in 2011.”

So far there has been support from: M.A.N.D.Y., Chloe, Ivan Smagghe, Ewan Pearson, Prince Language, Pilooski, Kiki, Dj Mehdi, Tim Green, Alexi Delano, Roman Flugel, Mickey Moonlight, Tim Paris, Mixhell, Feadz, Paul Chambers, Populette, Matt Walsh, Borderline, Ajax, and more.

Saycet is the project of Pierre Lefeuvre, a french music composer hailing from Paris who cut his teeth listening to Boards of Canada and Múm. His first solo album entitled “One Day at Home” resulted in nine atmospherical tracks, evoking abstract landscapes and fairy tales for adults from song to song.

It’s been over a year since Paris-based Pierre Lefeuvre of SayCet released his gorgeous second album “Through The Window”, an album which would definitely have deserved a few more honorable words at the end of the year in my opinion. Directed by Zita Cochet, this blissed-out video collage quite honestly makes me want to drop all that I have in my hands and go out traveling again. Have a peak below yourself.
