There are some covers that you haven’t even thought of; that brilliant they would be.

This one is a marvellous piece on its own. Gorillaz doing a cover of The XX’ “Crystalised”. In a world drowned into vagueness and pity, this song stands out like it can go on in eternity. The amount of feel in this song is humongous and it’s such a shame that it lasts not even three minutes.

The Gorillaz project on its own is a weird, mysterious, yet great success. It influences many people around us and maybe ourselves too. Perhaps it symbolises an ideal world with great mysteries and fantasies, perhaps it’s simply great music that touches you. It’s weird and inconvenient, yet so exciting to experience and feel the notes, voices and sounds that Gorillaz produces. Perhaps you could see it as one big fairytale. If you’ve seen the Gorillaz “Escape from Plastic Beach” Tour you will probably know what I’m talking about.

Anyhow they’re doing a terrific job and are able to touch me many times, where this one takes the cake, since The XX’s “Crystalised” on itself is an epic song created. And Damon Albarn‘s Gorillaz is pushing it to a higher, even more floating level.

Gorillaz is now living on a so called Plastic Beach, that leads them to a great journey of adventures.
And as we know Gorillaz, you can expect some nice footage for the album!

The first footage has been made public, namely the video of Stylo. And the video has a big surprise in it, as Bruce Willis makes an appearance in it! As you will see, Bruce Willis is NOT dead. Hmm, I wonder if this is a statement of him regarding the other video I’ve just showed you? I guess that’s a bit too far-fetched, aye?

The new video for Stylo is online, in full, right now. Follow our hero Murdoc Niccals on a dangerous trip to the mainland from his new home on Plastic Beach. Something goes badly wrong and Murdoc, Cyborg Noodle and 2D end up in a high speed car chase with a local cop and an unknown assailant. Cyborg Noodle’s circuits start failing and 2D fears for their lives as the gun-toting bounty hunter draws ever closer… WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT? Gorillaz is terug! Na jarenlange afwezigheid wat betreft een album komt er nu eindelijk een derde album aan genaamd “Plastic Beach”. Het album zal veel samenwerkingen bevatten met onder andere Mos Def en Snoop Dogg. De eerste single van de band heet “Stylo” en is nu te downloaden via iTunes. Plastic Beach wordt op 8 maart gereleased. Over Stylo twitterde Murdoc Niccals: “A leak! A leak! Plastic Beach has sprung a leak! One of those Russian pirates has put a bullet hole in my island! My single’s leaked! STYLO!”

Naast de release van Plastic Beach zal de band weer sinds tijden een live performance neerzetten. Ditmaal zal zij op het Coachella Festival spelen. Waarschijnlijk kunnen we hierbij weer visuals verwachten zoals we die o.a. bij de Grammys hebben gezien, toen ze met Madonna speelden.
