Tiga and Zombie Nation are ready to release their first album as ZZT, entitled Partys Over Earth.

The two artists have been teaming up as ZZT since 2007, with a handful of EPs to their credit so far, all of which have come out on Turbo Recordings, Tiga’s label. Their sound is just like the individual artists; rough and bleepy. Partys Over Earth shows them doing what they do best: stomping, electro-tinged party bangers. (The promo version also has possibly the best watermarks of the year thus far, with Tiga whistling annoyingly and singing words like “mediafire,” and “torrent sites.”) The album’s first single, Vulkan Alarm!, is currently available with remixes from Proxy and Jan Driver.

ZZT is a project of Tiga and Zombie Nation, who you surely all know and love. Some even more than others. Apart from the countless underground classics they made with their solo projects, ZZT is also a well-known character in the music scene, with tracks like The Worm and Lower State Of Consciousness. Actually, that’s all they’ve released so far, which means that they are having a 100% score when it comes to underground hits.

But that’s all about to change now! Well, not the 100% on underground hits, but finally, and I really mean finally, they are releasing a new track that will get your yo yo’s out and makes you wanting to drill, drill, drill that song into infinity and beyond!

ZZT – ZZafrika is, ironically, hitting earth within a week! Perhaps you already know the track, perhaps you haven’t even heard of ZZT yet. Nevertheless, the track is awesome. Certain dancefloor killer if it’s up to me! You just have to listen to it. If you don’t like it, listen to it again. And again. And again.

Much diversity, a clear, yet raw setting sound. A bit of sidechain here and there. A few breaks in between, and the climaxes just keep on coming! 5.37 minutes of fun, pleasure, joy, sex, and party hard, that’s what I’m talking about. Both Tiga and Zombie Nation seem to have put so much fun in this track, that it makes even the most depressing person smile and dance.

In anticipation of the intense night you are almost sure of to experience, we’ve had a little talk with Aziz a.k.a. L’Azzizi (who will also play at the event). He’s the guy behind the Révolt events and responsible for this party.

Who or what is Aziz?

Aziz aka L’Azizzi is DJ, Executive Supervisor in the nightculture and marrocan, and that all in one! Also known as the cultural troublemaker/rebel/hooligan/yahoo since the scene left the crack of the door open to him.

When someone wants to hang out with you, what can he/she expect?

Free entrance and drinks all night long. No guarantee to get back to the hotel though.

What’s your favourite night out?

If the interaction between the crowd and the music is like the one between me and the girl next door, those are the nights that work for me the best. If it’s the right timing, beautiful things might happen.

How much do you love Rotterdam?

I would give up my 1971 450 SLC and never eat KFC nor download any movie again to be in this city. My life would be over If I had too chose between that and Rotterdam. Thank god I don’t have to.

What kind of stuff do you do in the city of Rotterdam?

Besides DJ’ing I try to be creative wit finding unique spots and gather some cool crowds to go nuts on the music that’s doing it for me right now. We did some crazy nights in movie theaters, brothels, closed animal farms (nothing unethical), parking terminals and crazy locations you wouldn’t think of for a party.

How important is are Revolt events to you?

For now Révolt is doing some amazing things. Thanks to Mojo concerts there’s a blazing line up on the 29th of April in Rotterdam. There are 4 big rooms in an old factory that used to stock grain. There’s even one room on the tenth floor looking over the whole city.

If you had to describe or express the crazyness of organising such an extraordinary event like this…

First of all the line up is arranged thanks to Mojo concerts and after that’s it’s a smooth ride. People are talking about it for months and with only 2 weeks to go I can’t find the rights words to describe the crazyness. I keep daydreaming and reminiscing about Soulwaxmas (2008, at the same location). It’s going to be hard!

Where can we get tickets?

I’ll let you guys decide who to please with 2 guestlist spots and otherwise go to livenation.nl and look for Révolt.

Can you tell us where the afterparty is for Révolt?

I can promise you that there will be one. I’m playing for 6hours and there should be some kind of hadliner playing there too (I think).

What are your plans for the coming year?

Well Révolt is planning on to do some cool stuff. There are talks for an outdoor edition on top of a closed train station and another edition before the end of the year. Also I’m working on some cool collaborations and I’ll make sure to keep you guys informed.

What’s your best gig so far?

Closing at Soulwaxmas is by far the nr 1. I hope this show will return to Holland soon.

Who’s the sickest dude out there according to you?

Pffff there are many…. even local heroes are amazing me with the stuff they bring nowadays. If you’d put a gun against my head and made me choose I would go for Giorgio Moroder. I would love to have him play at Révolt some time.

Persoonlijke opvallers zitten vooral in het middengedeelte van de mix. De nieuwe D.I.M., een lekkere Miike Snow remix, een Boris Dlugosch remix van Boys Noize, een heerlijke remix van Supercake 53 van Zombie Nation, De Tiga remix van Boys Noize’s Transmission (wordt binnen enkele dagen gereleased), de nieuwe track van Hey Today! – die mij persoonlijk aan een mix van The Brainwasher/Satisfaction/Fukkk Offf/Arpeggio/SebastiAn doet denken – en natuurlijk Computer Juice van Riton, die aanwezig is bij de aankomende Rauw New Stijl!

Hoewel het mixen matig te noemen is – sommige tracks lopen niet synchroon bijvoorbeeld – moet je deze mix zeker beluisteren, vanwege een overvloed aan nieuwe muziek!

Blacklabel Records zet graag straight A-students Tom Waist en Zip Stolk a.k.a. HOMEWORK in op nachtelijke Nederlandse underground feesten. Een slick and smooth voorkomen in gladgestreken witte blouse en gitzwarte stropdas wordt afgemaakt met een dikke electro melodische sound en een perfect slagingspercentage van een zweterige doch voldane uitgaansavond. Het Amsterdamse duo wordt het liefdeskind genoemd van grootse namen:

“Imagine Tiga getting gang-bang-raped by the Justice duo, while Daft Punk are filming it and get Soulwax to distribute the film, you are very close.” aldus een nieuwsbrief van Club Caput (Club 8).

En dat is mooi, want beide van Tiga’s zonen kijkt op naar zijn vader, vooral wanneer deze dj-sets geeft.

Charisma, goede organisatie, strategie en een breed scala aan muziek kennis en waardering maakt HOMEWORK een first class act om naar te kijken en pulserend op te bewegen. De jongeheren besloten hun talent te bundelen na het daverend succes dat ze behaalden met hun verschijning bij RobotRock`s 2-jarig bestaan.

Twee is altijd beter dan één, en vele handen maken licht werk. Teamwork gebaseerd op gedeelde passie en smaak met een hoog mattie-gehalte maakt HOMEWORK tot een goedgeolide machine die belooft vruchten af te werpen. Ookal zijn ze gezamelijk niet nog niet eens zo gek lang in de running, hebben ze heel naast zowel nationale als internationale acts als o.a. Uffie,  Sinden, Duke Dumont, Les Petits Pilous, Shitdisco, The Toxic Avenger, Pets On Prozac, en Jeugd van Tegenwoordig. Daarnaast scoren zowel hun officiële als onofficiële remixes/edits hoge ogen bij het Nederlands party publiek en andere artiesten. Zo stond hun Daft Punks’ Da Funk remix op nummer 11 in de Hypemachine popular chart.

Om de heren niet geheel een veer in de reet te plaatsen, hebben ze het in de race om een Gouden Kabouter af moeten leggen tegen fellow-Amsterdammers Guerilla Speakerz en TAFKAF werd verslagen door Katapult. Maar Tom en Zip zijn de beroerdste niet en de winst geven aan vrienden vieren ze net zo hard mee.  Volgend jaar nieuwe ronden, nieuwe kansen, en kansen grijpt HOMEWORK zeker aan. Zo is hun einddoel van dit jaar om de Parijse Social Club te draaien. “Daar worden al dingen voor geregeld, maar het is allemaal nog in de kinderschoenen.” – HOMEWORK

Sinds kort staat er een EP via Blacklabel Records op o.a. Beatport , genaamd “Bolide EP!” Bolide EP betreft 2 wat oudere tracks van HOMEWORK. Maar Bolide zal aangevuld worden met “Student Tits EP”, wederom ook bij Blacklabel. Wat de remixes betreft zitten de heren ook niet stil. De Amsterdammers zijn druk bezig met een remix voor de act Tanskonzol. Deze zal worden uitgebracht bij Basserk Records.

Sindsdien ik dit voor ‘t eerst heb gehoord draai ik ‘t days on end. De lyrics zijn heerlijk en ‘t riedeltje blijft je nog dagen/maanden/jaren/eeuwen bij. Een goede tweede deze week is volgens mijn last.fm thingy LeLe – Kickstart le Brommer!

Friendly Fires – Skeleton boy (Grum Remix)

Ik zag de clip van Skeleton boy op MTV, en zocht het nummer op hypem. Uiteindelijk vond ik het origineel, de Air France Remix, de Vanguard remix en de Grum remix. De Grum remix steekt ver boven de andere 2 uit en zal nog wat dagen in mijn top 3 blijven staan. Grum heeft zich weer bewezen het rauwe te kunnen combineren met 80′s effect vocals en een heerlijke bass. Grummmmm!

De clip is geregisseerd door Alex & Liane (o.a. bekend van clips van The Ting Tings en Armand van Helden) en is volgens Tiga ´cooler than Obama with frosted tips´.
“It imagines a horrifying dystopia in which people other than myself are interviewed,” says the Man of Music Future, “I had to calm myself down by staring at my MySpace photos for a couple of hours.”
