Tiga and Zombie Nation are ready to release their first album as ZZT, entitled Partys Over Earth.

The two artists have been teaming up as ZZT since 2007, with a handful of EPs to their credit so far, all of which have come out on Turbo Recordings, Tiga’s label. Their sound is just like the individual artists; rough and bleepy. Partys Over Earth shows them doing what they do best: stomping, electro-tinged party bangers. (The promo version also has possibly the best watermarks of the year thus far, with Tiga whistling annoyingly and singing words like “mediafire,” and “torrent sites.”) The album’s first single, Vulkan Alarm!, is currently available with remixes from Proxy and Jan Driver.

Tracklist
01. Where Is the Captain?
02. Rock the Peace
03. Partys Over Los Angeles
04. Nickel Und Dime
05. ZZTMF
06. Zig Zig Zag
07. Zzafrika
08. The Worm
09. Work
10. Lower State of Consciousness
11. Vulkan Alarm
12. ZZT Has Left the Building

Turbo will release Partys Over Earth on November 7th, 2011, and will be available in The Kool Kids Shop!

Now that STRP Festival has ended, we are very interested in all the recaps flying around the internet.

First of all we’d like to show you an amazing video done by our friend Mark Loonen. This video is a great capture of the Soulwaxmas party, one of the highlights this year at STRP Festival. Let’s enjoy!

Next to that Soulwax had their own aftermath too:

As you can see this is a party you would feel lucky to attend, and if you missed it you’re probably very sorry.

ZZT is a project of Tiga and Zombie Nation, who you surely all know and love. Some even more than others. Apart from the countless underground classics they made with their solo projects, ZZT is also a well-known character in the music scene, with tracks like The Worm and Lower State Of Consciousness. Actually, that’s all they’ve released so far, which means that they are having a 100% score when it comes to underground hits.

But that’s all about to change now! Well, not the 100% on underground hits, but finally, and I really mean finally, they are releasing a new track that will get your yo yo’s out and makes you wanting to drill, drill, drill that song into infinity and beyond!

ZZT – ZZafrika is, ironically, hitting earth within a week! Perhaps you already know the track, perhaps you haven’t even heard of ZZT yet. Nevertheless, the track is awesome. Certain dancefloor killer if it’s up to me! You just have to listen to it. If you don’t like it, listen to it again. And again. And again.

Much diversity, a clear, yet raw setting sound. A bit of sidechain here and there. A few breaks in between, and the climaxes just keep on coming! 5.37 minutes of fun, pleasure, joy, sex, and party hard, that’s what I’m talking about. Both Tiga and Zombie Nation seem to have put so much fun in this track, that it makes even the most depressing person smile and dance.

Enough of this chit chat, let’s all have a drink, listen, get wasted, and listen some more shall we!

This Queensnight, April the 29th, Révolt and Mojo concerts have teamed up to create the biggest party ever. On this night, you can expect huge acts. There will be an immense line-up, all big international artists, ready to be watched and raved on behind the doors of the large Maassilo venue. The Kool Kids are giving away 2 tickets for this event, so make sure you get them! For more info see below. The humongous line-up will feature the following artists:

Crookers

Tiga

Dr. Lektroluv

Digitalism (DJ set)

Erol Alkan

Vitalic (Selector DJ set)

Mehdi

Simian Mobile Disco (DJ set)

Fake Blood

Boemklatsch

Mehdi

The Proxy

Zombie Nation

Riton

Thomas von Party

In anticipation of the intense night you are almost sure of to experience, we’ve had a little talk with Aziz a.k.a. L’Azzizi (who will also play at the event). He’s the guy behind the Révolt events and responsible for this party.

Who or what is Aziz?

Aziz aka L’Azizzi is DJ, Executive Supervisor in the nightculture and marrocan, and that all in one! Also known as the cultural troublemaker/rebel/hooligan/yahoo since the scene left the crack of the door open to him.

When someone wants to hang out with you, what can he/she expect?

Free entrance and drinks all night long. No guarantee to get back to the hotel though.

What’s your favourite night out?

If the interaction between the crowd and the music is like the one between me and the girl next door, those are the nights that work for me the best. If it’s the right timing, beautiful things might happen.

How much do you love Rotterdam?

I would give up my 1971 450 SLC and never eat KFC nor download any movie again to be in this city. My life would be over If I had too chose between that and Rotterdam. Thank god I don’t have to.

What kind of stuff do you do in the city of Rotterdam?

Besides DJ’ing I try to be creative wit finding unique spots and gather some cool crowds to go nuts on the music that’s doing it for me right now. We did some crazy nights in movie theaters, brothels, closed animal farms (nothing unethical), parking terminals and crazy locations you wouldn’t think of for a party.

How important is are Revolt events to you?

For now Révolt is doing some amazing things. Thanks to Mojo concerts there’s a blazing line up on the 29th of April in Rotterdam. There are 4 big rooms in an old factory that used to stock grain. There’s even one room on the tenth floor looking over the whole city.

If you had to describe or express the crazyness of organising such an extraordinary event like this…

First of all the line up is arranged thanks to Mojo concerts and after that’s it’s a smooth ride. People are talking about it for months and with only 2 weeks to go I can’t find the rights words to describe the crazyness. I keep daydreaming and reminiscing about Soulwaxmas (2008, at the same location). It’s going to be hard!

Where can we get tickets?

I’ll let you guys decide who to please with 2 guestlist spots and otherwise go to livenation.nl and look for Révolt.

Can you tell us where the afterparty is for Révolt?

I can promise you that there will be one. I’m playing for 6hours and there should be some kind of hadliner playing there too (I think).

What are your plans for the coming year?

Well Révolt is planning on to do some cool stuff. There are talks for an outdoor edition on top of a closed train station and another edition before the end of the year. Also I’m working on some cool collaborations and I’ll make sure to keep you guys informed.

What’s your best gig so far?

Closing at Soulwaxmas is by far the nr 1. I hope this show will return to Holland soon.

Who’s the sickest dude out there according to you?

Pffff there are many…. even local heroes are amazing me with the stuff they bring nowadays. If you’d put a gun against my head and made me choose I would go for Giorgio Moroder. I would love to have him play at Révolt some time.

How Kool are you?

Didn’t I just mentioned I own a 1971 450 SLC (google it).

Win!

You can get 2 tickets from us! In order to get them, you have to do the following:
Express you Koolness. Show us how Kool you are. It can be a video, an image, poetry or whatever. Just make sure you are the Koolest person ever to be found and those tickets will be yours!
Mail your creativity to: contact@thekoolkids.com

We will mail the lucky winner on April the 25th, so hurry!

01. Fagget Fairys – Feed the Horse
02. Dirty Disco Youth – Brains [Fukkk Offf Remix]
03. Fukkk Offf – More than friends [Congorock Remix]
04. Tom Stephan – Turn that shit up [Diplo Remix]
05. Green Velvet – Turn it up
06. Diplo & Laidback Luke – Hey! [Sidney Samson Remix]
07. D.I.M. – Kleine Träume
08. Miike Snow – Silvia [Hugg n Pepp Remix]
09. Boys Noize – Sweet Light [Boris Dlugosch Remix]
10. Zombie Nation – Supercake 53 [Franz n Shape Remix]
11. Boys Noize – Transmission [Tiga Remix]
12. Hey Today! – Talk to me
13. Riton – Computer Juice
14. Sound of Stereo – Velcro
15. Roel H – Dancing Bears [Phil Kieran Remix]
16. Boris Dlugosch –Bangkok
17. Idiotproof – The Deacon
18. Artist Unknown – Snoops Acid Drop

Download: Zombie Nation – Kernkraft 400 (zShare)

Grote kunst is altijd ambigu.

Show: The Real Gigolo History Movie.

‘Sunglasses At Night’?

Hier: http://www.gigolorecords.com/data.pl?release=Gigolo150

“There was a time when DJ Hell wasn’t DJ Hell but a certain boy named Helmut Josef Geier who swapped playing football with playing punk-rock records in a club in Bavaria. There was also a time when he was fed up with electronic music’s stagnation and realised that there was one simple formula that could work. That’s when he founded International DJ Gigolos: 1997. The manifesto of the IDG label read like a guidebook for modern living: Don’t hold back, release it. Everything is possible. Do what you want. This DVD now celebrates IDG’s 150th release. The label has since grown into a full-scale world of its own. “Gigolo Freakshow” also does something else — takes the viewer deep into the realms of past reality, into the lives of everybody involved; throwing a spotlight on those who attended the many parties, showcases, diners, meetings, hotel rooms, beaches all over the planet. Here, director Angelika Lepper has beautifully managed the areas of research and storytelling: Most of this material is previously unreleased, almost impossible to get. Private recordings, intimate film material and very rare moments of the artists’ lives are gorgeously compiled, so that the story of IDG is told yet again … but not by any journalist or reporter. The story is told by the artists, the Gigolettas, the people. We are invited to have dinner with Casey Spooner and Miss Kittin; we listen to DJ Hell when he hosts a conference in Mexico, in March 2002. We follow the Gigolos on tour through the USA in 1997, join them for a stunt on Siegessäule during the 2000 Love Parade and we witness the outrage and the madness of “Sonar Sunday“ when all hell broke loose. Slowly we drive into a Detroit that looks “like Bavaria, just flat with bigger trucks“. Policemen salute us, people scream, record cases are carried, stretch limos await the white satin knights, while light dawns on those still dancing. Whereas the label’s first release in 1997 predicted its own future as a 12-inch only venture, its fiftieth release was a book, and the hundredth was underwear by Agent Provocateur. Now this. ”Gigolo Freakshow“ is less about freaks than a sympathetically distorted family. A home for those who wanted more: of electronic music, of a party, who evolved, developed, thought and had fun at the same time. For whom there was more to techno than just rave. More to style than just a suit. In this family, women are ladies. Sex is important, as are funk and punk. Lepper allows us to take a look at the Gigolos’ and Gigolettas’ everyday life (everynight life). We understand why they became a bunch of warriors, and we understand their cause: good music, friendship and loyalty. Why it’s important to play straight, to play honest. It’s a family thing, with Hell as the daddy who looks like a playboy, behaves like a gentleman, lives like a jetsetter and plays like a punk. The DVD also clarifies some urban myths, for example: Legend had it that after two glasses of champagne Hell’s done for, which is not true. Legend also had it that you have to wear designer clothes to partake. Obviously that is wrong. IDG is not about overdoing the obvious. “Don’t show everything at once, hide things, play it slow, be subtle, be modern. Have fun.“ Misunderstanding IDG would mean to copy the surface. Understanding IDG works when you simply inhale the attitude. Dig into what lies beneath. “I don’t compromise with any track that is released; it has to fit in the gigolo universe,“ DJ Hell once said. The variety of this retrospective — bending from Fisherspooner via Zombie Nation to Tuxedomoon, DJ Hell himself and DJ Traxx — is wide, but it illuminates the star-studded sky over the Gigolo universe. It shows where the stars came from, where the stars went, which stars stayed, and the many stars who danced and partied and eventually made it all happen. The end is a beginning, because it is a question: “Where do we go from here?” For now: we salute you.”
